Hokies fall in Lynchburg to no. 66 Liberty


LYNCHBURG, Va. – Virginia Tech women’s tennis falls to No. 66 Liberty, 5-2, on Sunday, March 17. 
 
Tech battled through doubles, but ultimately fell short in 6-4 losses on Courts 2 and 3. The match on Court 1 was abandoned before Katie Andreini and Dariya Radulova could try and make a comeback. 
 
Semra Aksu stayed hot on Court 3 and swept Daniella O’Neill 6-4, 6-2. She returned from down 3-4 in the first set to secure the first-set win. 
 
Özlem Uslu picked up the other singles win for the Hokies on Court 2, as she swept Tiffany Nguyen 6-3, 6-4. 
 
On Court 1, Andreini fell in a third-set ten-point tiebreak, 10-5, after winning the first set 6-1 and falling in the second-set tiebreak 7-3. 
 
UP NEXT: 
The Hokies return to the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center on Friday, March 22 at 3 p.m. to resume ACC play against Boston College.
