Wake Forest jumped ahead in doubles before the match was delayed due to rain for about an hour. The Demon Deacons continued to push forward and eventually claimed the point to take a 1-0 lead into singles.
Özlem Uslu continued her ridiculous tear of ranked wins beating No. 49 Casie Wooten with a beautiful shot down the line to close it out, 6-3, 6-3. Erika Cheng got things even at two all with a brilliant performance in the tiebreak to win in straight sets, 6-0, 7-6(3).
Dariya Radulova showed tremendous toughness battling back to force a third set. The Stara Zagora, Bulgaria native pushed her Demon Deacon challenger to the brink in the 10-point tiebreak but came up just short.
