How did you first get involved in tennis?
When I was little, my parents would take me out to the courts when they played. I would always ask to join in and play more, so my parents bought me a racket and I started getting involved in kids’ clinics and tournaments.
What has been the best advice a coach has given you?
The best advice a coach has given me is to trust my shots and think simply on the court. Focus on the present and play one point at a time rather than thinking about the outcome.
Who do you model your game after?
Petra Kvitova and Rafael Nadal, two aggressive lefties who use their lefty spin to make their serve and ground stroke angles big weapons.
What has been your favorite experience at Virginia Tech?
My favorite experience at Virginia Tech has been having the opportunity to be part of the tennis team, where I’ve grown so much as a person and a tennis player from my teammates and coaches.
What is one personal goal for your senior season?
For my senior season, I want to positively influence my teammates both on and off the court to work hard and come together as one so that we can achieve and exceed the goals we set at the beginning of the year.
