GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Seven members of the Florida men’s tennis team will travel to Tulsa, Okla. for an opportunity to compete in the ITA All-American Championships running from Oct. 1 through Oct. 9 at the Michael D. Case Center at the University of Tulsa and the Case Tennis Center in LaFortune Park.
The Gators start the tournament with five selections in the pre-qualifying singles draw, highlighted by a trio of freshmen making their collegiate debuts. Jonah Braswell, Tanapatt Nirundorn and Togan Tokac all get their first opportunity to compete at the college level. Junior Will Grant and senior Lukas Greif round out the group as both are fresh off strong performances at the Commodore Invitational. Grant picked up three wins overall at the event, including a ranked victory over No. 9 Tyler Stice from Auburn. Greif also notched a ranked win at Vanderbilt against No. 89 Jan Galka from Auburn.
Sophomore No. 91 Nate Bonetto begins play in the qualifying singles draw on Oct. 3 and graduate transfer No. 34 Axel Nefve returns to Tulsa for his second consecutive main draw appearance at the ITA All-American Championships on Oct. 5.
Florida will also have three pairs in the qualifying doubles draw starting Oct. 3. Bonetto/Greif, Grant/Nefve and Nirundorn/Tokac all have a chance to earn their spot in the main doubles draw.
