Gators Dominate Doubles in Delray, Start Dual Play Friday


DELRAY BEACH, Fla – This weekend, Florida Gators Men’s Tennis participated in the Fighting Illini Invite in Delray Beach, Fla. The event served as final preseason reps before official dual play begins on Friday, January 19th against the Citadel.
 
The Gators dominated in doubles, winning three of four sets on the weekend, with the fourth cut short due to weather
 
Junior Nate Bonetto shined against the Illini, winning three of his four matches on the weekend, including both of his double’s appearances. His fourth match was cut short due to weather.
 
The event marked collegiate debuts for three new Gators, Adhithya Ganesan, Kevin Edengren, and Henry Jefferson. Ganesan stood out, collecting his first collegiate wins in both singles and doubles over the two-day event.
 
The Gators return to Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex on January 19 against the Citadel at 11 AM and North Florida at 4 PM.
