Gamecocks Conclude Action at Regional Championships – University of South Carolina Athletics

Cary, N.C. – South Carolina men’s tennis completed action at the Carolina Regional Championships on Monday with Casey Hoole falling in the singles semifinals and the Gamecock’s doubles pair of Lucas Andrade da Silva and Jelani Sarr falling in the doubles quarterfinals.

In singles, No. 59 Hoole faced No. 96 Filippo Moroni of Wake Forest. The junior battled but Moroni came out on top 6-2, 6-4. Hoole’s journey to the semifinal match marks the fifth consecutive year that a Gamecock has advanced to or past the quarterfinals of the event.

In doubles, da Silva and Sarr put up a hard fight against the nation’s No. 10 pair of Andrew Zhang and Michel Heller, but fell 5-8.

The men’s tennis team will be in action next at the Wake Forest Invite that will take place Nov. 3-5 in Winston-Salem, N.C.
