FSU Falls Short at Old Dominion

Norfolk, Va. – The Florida State women’s tennis team fell to Old Dominion 4-1 in Norfolk, Virginia, on Sunday.

The Lions entered singles with a 1-0 lead after winning at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. Old Dominion extended its lead with wins at No. 4 and No. 3 singles.

The Seminoles were able to cut the lead when senior Vic Allen won 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2 singles against Sharar Biran who is ranked 124th nationally.

The Lions were then able to win at No. 1 to clinch the team victory.

Freshman Kristyna Lavickova won her second set at No. 5 singles and was ahead 2-1 in her third set before the stoppage. Sophomore Olympe Lancelot was ahead tied 4-1 in her second set at No. 4 when the match ended.

Florida State returns to action Friday when it opens ACC play at Syracuse. Live stats will be available on Seminoles.com.
