Freeman Named Player; Pozder Co-Freshman of the Week – Notre Dame Fighting Irish – Official Athletics Website

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The University of Notre Dame women’s tennis team saw a pair of players earn ACC weekly honors for their performances last weekend. Senior Page Freeman earned Player of the Week honors, while freshman Bojana Pozder was the Co-Freshman of the Week along with Georgia Tech’s Alejandra Cruz. It’s the second weekly award each of these student athletes this season, and the third of Freeman’s career.

Freeman finished 2-0 at the top singles flight during the weekend. She started the week with a singles win over #43 Julia Adams of Virginia, dominating at 6-1, 6-0. She concluded singles play with another dominant performance, defeating Ozlem Uslu 6-2, 6-4 of Virginia Tech. She added a doubles victory with Maria Olivia Castedo at No. 1 doubles, defeating Katie Andreini and Semra Aksu, 6-3.

Pozder competed in two singles matches, earning wins in both. She defeated Virginia’s Sara Ziodato 6-3, 6-3 at No. 5, and rounded out the weekend with a straight-set win at No. 4 over Semra Aksu, 7-5, 6-0.

Freeman and Pozder return to the court this weekend as they play host to No. 8 NC State at 3:30 p.m. Friday evening, and No. 25 Wake Forest Sunday at 11 a.m.
