Four Tar Heel Men Move On In ITA Carolina Regional


CARY, N.C.—All four University of North Carolina men’s tennis players advanced in the singles main draw of the ITA Carolina Regional on Saturday at the Cary Tennis Park. Each of the four wins came against Atlantic Coast Conference opponents in a solid overall performance by the Tar Heels.

Logan Zapp beat the tournament’s #8 seed, Andrew Zhang of Duke, in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2. Karl Poling and Anuj Watane also beat Blue Devil opponents on Saturday. Poling topped Andrew Dale, 6-1, 6-2, while Watane outlasted Jake Krug in three sets, 6-3, 5-7, 6-2. UNC graduate transfer Will Peters beat Martin Borisiouk of NC State in straight sets, 7-6, 6-1.
