Four Blue Devils Ranked in Latest ITA Ledger

DURHAM – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its latest team, singles and doubles rankings this week with four members of the Duke women’s program ranked in singles action.  Junior Ellie Coleman (#83), freshman Shavit Kimchi (#90), sophomore Katie Codd (#94) and junior Emma Jackson (#97) are all listed in the top 100.

The Blue Devils, winners of four out of their last five matches, moved to No. 23 as a team in the rankings with a 10-5 overall and 3-3 ACC mark.

Even though she has missed Duke’s last seven matches, Coleman is the Blue Devils’ highest ranked player at No. 83.  She has won five out of her last six singles contests heading into the weekend.

Kimchi, who was recently named ACC Freshman of the Week for a third time, is at No. 90.  She has won four out of her last five singles matches and leads Duke with six match-clinching wins, which tied a Duke freshman record.

Coming in at No. 94, Codd owns a perfect, 7-0, ledger at No. 4 singles, while winning three in a row and nine out of her last 12 contests.

Jackson rounds out the Duke rankings at No. 97.  She has won 13 out of her last 18 singles matches, which includes five ranked wins.  Jackson leads the Blue Devils with 16 singles wins on the year.

Duke returns to ACC action this week as the Blue Devils travel to No. 31 Wake Forest on Friday, March 22 at 3:30 p.m., and No. 14 NC State on Sunday, March 24 at 2 p.m.
