Four American men rank inside the ATP’s Top-15 for the first time since 1997.
On the strength of his title run at Tokyo, 21-year-old Ben Shelton rounds out the quartet at No.15. He joins No.14 Frances Tiafoe, No.12 Tommy Paul and No.9 Taylor Fritz to match Pete Sampras (No.1), Michael Chang (No.2), Andre Agassi (No.8) and Todd Martin (No.12), the American quartet that last did the trick in 1997.

Shelton has gone 14-2 in his last 16 matches – he started the season at 96 in the world, but rose via a quarterfinal run at the Australian Open and a semifinal run at the US Open.
There are currently seven US men in the Top-50 and nine total in the Top-60.
