Ben Weintraub joins Florida’s squad as they look to build off of freshman success in the 2024 dual season
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida men’s tennis has inked another international prospect to join the team in Fall 2024. Ben Weintraub, a native of Israel, joins the Gators for year two under Head Coach Adam Steinberg.
The Gators’ first signing class under Steinberg featured multiple early enrollees, including Kevin Edengren, Henry Jefferson, and Adhithya Ganesan, who made their presence felt during the 2024 dual season. Weintraub joins Francesco Cordova of Katy, Texas as new freshmen joining the Orange and Blue this Fall.
Weintraub was originally classified by the Tennis Recruiting Network as a prospect in the class of 2022, but reclassified following a period of military service.
Weintraub maintained his tennis skills during his service, occasionally playing in some professional events in Israel, Greece, and other countries around the Mediterranean. He has gone 45-39 in ITF, ATP, and Davis Cup level matches in his career. So far in 2024, he has gone 19-8 in pro-level matches. Weintraub currently boasts an ATP singles ranking of 1298.
