Five Blue Devils Set to Compete at ITA All-American Championships


DURHAM – Five members of the Duke men’s tennis team are set to compete at the 2023 ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. The championship will be contested Sept. 30 through Oct. 8.

Juniors Connor Krug and Jake Krug open the competition in the pre-qualifying singles round on Saturday. Jake Krug faces Alessio Vasquez of Louisiana State in his opening match at 1:15 p.m., while Connor Krug battles Ohio State’s Reece Yakubov at 2:15 p.m.

Graduate students Michael Heller and Andrew Zhang and sophomore Pedro Rodenas will also join the Krug brothers at the championship. Heller and Zhang will start in the qualifying singles round on Monday, while Rodenas opens action in the main draw Wednesday.  

In doubles play, Connor Krug and Rodenas will team up in the qualifying round and the tandem of Heller and Zhang will compete in the main draw.

The pre-qualifying round will take place Sept. 30 through Oct. 1 followed by the qualifying round on Oct. 2-3. The main draw will run from Oct. 4-8.
