Five Blue Devils Ranked in Final Regional Ledger for Women’s Tennis


DURHAM – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has released its final Carolina regional rankings for the 2022-23 campaign with five different members of the Duke women’s tennis team listed.  

In the singles rankings, Chloe Beck (3), Emma Jackson (12), Georgia Drummy (13) and Cameron Morra (15) were in the top-15.  A pair of doubles teams were among the top-10 teams in the ranking – Beck and Ellie Coleman were No. 7, while Beck and Morra were No. 9.  

Beck, a native of Watkinsville, Ga., turned in a 33-5 singles and 30-5 doubles mark in 2022-23, becoming the fourth Blue Devil to collect 30 or more singles and doubles wins in a single season.  She was ranked as high as No. 2 nationally, while playing No. 1 singles and finished with an impressive 21-1 dual match ledger.  Beck earned ITA All-America accolades for the third straight year along with College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America honors as well.

Drummy, who is from Dublin, Ireland, carded a 13-7 overall record in singles in her final season with the Blue Devils.  Despite injuries limiting her play this season, Drummy was ranked as high as No. 8 nationally in singles.  An NCAA Singles Championship qualifier, Drummy advanced to the round of 32, after knocking off second-seeded Mary Stoiana of Texas A&M, 1-6, 7-6, 6-4.  With a 6-0 record in ACC singles action, she concluded her career with a 32-11 mark in ACC singles play.  

A product of La Grange Park, Ill., Jackson turned in another solid season with the Blue Devils with a 22-12 overall and 7-4 ACC mark in singles.  Jackson registered two wins over top-10 opponents on the year and five total victories over ranked opponents.  Her 13 wins at the No. 3 singles position this season ranked as tied for 14th-most in the Duke record book.  In two years with the Blue Devils, Jackson holds an impressive 45-26 overall singles mark along with 12 ACC victories.  

Beck and Coleman totaled a 2-0 record with wins over a pair of top-10 ranked opponents at the No. 1 slot.  They knocked off seventh-ranked Elise Wagle and Kimmi Hance of UCLA along with a 6-4 win over 10th-ranked Diana Shnaider and Alana Smith of NC State.  Beck turned in an overall 30-5 doubles mark, while Coleman posted a…
