DURHAM – Riding a nine-match winning streak, the sixth-ranked Duke women’s tennis team will close a homestand by welcoming 24th-ranked Wake Forest and seventh-ranked NC State to Ambler Tennis Stadium this week.  The Blue Devils will host the Demon Deacons on Thursday, April 6 at 5 p.m., followed by taking on the Wolfpack for senior day on Saturday, April 8 at 11 a.m.  The matches are scheduled to be played at Ambler Tennis Stadium or the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center on campus.  

The Series with Wake Forest

Duke and Wake Forest will meet for the 70th time in school history with the Blue Devils leading the series, 65-4.  The Blue Devils have won 16 consecutive matches in the series.  In matches played in Durham, the Blue Devils feature a 27-1 ledger, including 11 wins in a row.  The lone loss in Durham came on April 5, 2000.  Blue Devil head coach Jamie Ashworth owns a 29-3 record against the Demon Deacons with a 13-1 mark at home.

Scouting Wake Forest

Wake Forest enters the week with a 14-9 overall and 4-5 ACC record, while winning its last two matches against Syracuse and Elon under the direction of head coach Jeff Wyshner.

In the latest ITA rankings, Casie Wooten is ranked No. 47 and Anna Brylin is No. 66. In doubles, Brylin and Brooks Killingsworth are ranked No. 23.

The Series with NC State

Duke and NC State will meet for the 66th time in school history with the Blue Devils leading the series, 63-2.  The Blue Devils have won 12 consecutive matches in the series.  In matches played in Durham, the Blue Devils are 27-1, including six straight wins.  Blue Devil head coach Jamie Ashworth owns a 32-2 record against the Wolfpack.

Scouting NC State

NC State owns a 17-2 overall and 8-1 ACC mark heading into the week.  The Wolfpack will face top-ranked North Carolina on Thursday in Chapel Hill, prior to heading to Durham on Saturday.
