Ducks Take Down Buffs – University of Oregon Athletics

EUGENE, Ore. – In its Pac-12 home opener, the No. 47 Oregon women’s tennis team took down Colorado, 4-0, Friday afternoon at the Student Tennis Center.
 
Playing their first match in 12 days, the Ducks (9-4, 2-1) picked up their second conference win after splitting two road matches at No. 43 Arizona and No. 25 Arizona State to begin their Pac-12 slate. UO clinched the doubles point before straight-set singles wins from Jo-Yee Chan, Ares Teixido Garcia and Myah Petchey delivered the Ducks’ first sweep in conference action.
 
“Last weekend was the first weekend (our team) had off since we started the season, so I think it was just a good reset for a lot of them especially since we approach finals week,” said head coach Courtney Nagle. “I think they really benefited from that, and they came out fresh and ready to go. We put in a lot of work for the doubles courts, as well, and we did different things to work on movement so that we were fit and strong.”

In doubles, Petchey and Karin Young made quick work on court three, overtaking CU’s Ellen Puzak and Betina Tokac 6-0. Petchey and Young evened their spring doubles record to 2-2 while picking up their first conference win. The doubles point was decided by two tightly contested matches at Nos….
