Day One of Vanderbilt San Juan Invitational


SAN JUAN, P.R. – Four Badgers traveled to Puerto Rico for the Vanderbilt San Juan Invitational, which began Friday. These four squared off against Florida State first in singles and then followed those games with singles matches against Michigan.

Ava Markham and Maria Sholokhova emerged victorious in their matches against Florida State, while Markham also beat her Michigan opponent, going 2-0 on the day. The invitational officially concludes on Sunday, Oct. 30, leaving two days remaining.

Singles against Michigan

Ava Markham (UW) def. Miller (U-M), 4-6, 6-3, 10-7

Fliegner (U-M) def. Maria Sholokhova (UW) , 6-3, 6-2

Kelly (U-M) def. Charmaine Seah (UW), 6-2, 6-2
