STANFORD, Calif. – Two Husky doubles teams remain in the mix at ITA Northwest Regionals, as the tournament continues on at Stanford’s Taube Tennis Stadium. The duos of Astrid Olsen and Sarah-Maude Fortin, and Hikaru Sato and Melissa Sakar each advanced into the round of 16 with wins this morning.
 
Fortin/Olsen had an 8-3 win over a San Jose State team of Muradyan/Youseva. Sato and Sakar had an impressive upset over the No. 3 seeds, Jittakoat/Magrini of Fresno State, pulling out a win in a tiebreaker 8-7 (7-5).
 
The two remaining Huskies fell short in the singles draw in the round of 32. Olsen dropped a 6-4, 6-4 match to the No. 7 seed, Hannah Viller Moeller of Cal. Sato was edged out in three sets by Lou Baudouin of Sacramento State, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4.
 
Melissa Sakar got a win in consolation play, 6-0, 6-3 over Michelle Zell of UC Davis.
