NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt men’s tennis will send sophomores Danil Panarin and Hugo Coquelin to the ITA Sectional Championships, hosted by Florida State, Nov. 7-10.
The No. 22 ranked Panarin returns to the court for the first time since falling in the opening round of All-Americans on Sept. 25. Coquelin looks to build off his performance at the ITA Regional Championships after advancing to the singles quarterfinals and doubles semifinals alongside fifth year Henry Ruger. The sectional will consist of a 32-player draw, with the top six singles players and top three doubles teams earning qualification into the NCAA Singles & Doubles Championships. Panarin qualified for the singles championship last season, where the SEC Freshman of the Year came up short to Justin Boulais of Ohio State in the first round.
Singles action is slated for a 9 a.m. CT start, with Panarin matching up against Florida State’s Alex Bulte. Coquelin faces conference foe Niels Ratiu of Georgia at 10:45 a.m. The tournament page is available online.
