‘Cats Rake in ITA Regional Awards

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Men’s Tennis was awarded four ITA Southwest Regional awards, including Assistant Coach of the Year and the Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship award.

Bryce Warren wrapped up his third year at Arizona with the honor of Assistant Coach of the Year. Warren helped coach the team to its back-to-back regular season conference title and second-ever Sweet 16 appearance in the NCAA tournament. He was promoted to Associate Head Coach in fall 2022.

Recent graduate Jonas Ziverts claimed the Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship award, as well as ITA Senior Player of the Year, for his impressive performances on and off the court. The Pac-12 Student Athlete of the Year and three-time NCAA Singles Championships qualifier led the team through another historic season. Ziverts adds these two awards to his decorated list of accolades to top off an outstanding career with the Wildcats.

As a team, the 2022-23 squad earned the ITA Community Service Award after volunteering over 200 hours of their time to the community.

National award winners are set to be announced next Monday, June 12.
