Canete Sisters Sit At No. 24 In ITA Rankings


COLUMBIA, Mo. — The University of Missouri tennis doubles duo of senior Mae Canete and junior Inah Canete are No. 24 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) women’s doubles rankings on Feb. 20. The doubles team has remained ranked under No. 25 since the Nov. 15, 2023 preseason rankings. 

Sitting at a win percentage of .700, M. Canete and I. Canete have gone 14-6 in the 2023-24 campaign, playing at the No. 1 spot for the Tigers. The doubles pair swept the competition in their weekend action in Lynchburg, Va., from Feb. 2-3, where they dominated against Liberty (6-3) and Radford (6-1). 

The Canete sisters represent the SEC as one of seven pairings sitting in the top No. 25 with duos from Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, Georgia and Arkansas. 

UP NEXT

Mizzou is set to open conference play in Columbia, Missouri on Mar. 1 against Georgia at 11 a.m. CT. Following the match with the Bulldogs, the Tigers face off against Lindenwood in doubleheader action at 4 p.m. CT.
