Bulldogs Host Doubleheader On Sunday

STARKVILLE – Mississippi State’s women’s tennis team is gearing up to face Tennessee State in a doubleheader on Sunday.

The opening match is slated to start at 10 a.m. and the next match beginning at 2 p.m. inside the Rula Tennis Pavilion.

MSU has won 57 straight non-conference home matches dating back to the 2012-13 season.

In singles play, Chloé Cirotte and Emmanouela Antonaki have been on a hot streaking having won all four of their matches this spring season. Alexandra Mikhailuk has also been on a streak with having won six straight matches dating back to the fall. As a team, the Bulldogs have collected 20 singles wins this season.

Antonaki is only three wins away from claiming the No. 1 spot in the MSU record book for career singles wins.

In doubles, the tandem of Antonaki and Gia Cohen have continued their success by winning in fashion with a 6-0 victory over Arkansas State. A newly formed duo of Sydney Hrehor and Emily Surcey clinched the doubles point for the Bulldogs in their match against Arkansas State. The win marked freshman Hrehor’s first doubles win of her career and Surcey’s first regular season doubles win as a Bulldog.

This match will mark the first time Mississippi State and Tennessee State have ever played each other.

TSU is 0-2, while the Bulldogs are 4-0 on the season.
