Columbia, S.C. – South Carolina women’s tennis head coach Kevin Epley has announced the signing of Jana Stojanova to the team for the 2024-25 season. She will join the Gamecocks in the fall with four years of eligibility.

“We are excited Jana is joining our squad next year,” said Epley. “She is a very upbeat young lady and an experienced player and hard worker. We expect her to contribute immediately and have a significant impact on the 2024-25 campaign.”

Stojanova, a native of Skopje, Macedonia, has a career high ITF Junior Ranking of 279 that she achieved in March of 2022 and a career-high WTA Singles Ranking of 1053 that was posted in January of 2024. She currently sits at a UTR of 10.01 in singles.

Stojanova holds junior singles titles from the J5 Nis and J5 Peja in 2021, as well as the J4 Larnaca in 2022. She also reached the finals of the J5 Tirana.

In doubles she claimed the title at the J5 Tirana in 2021 and reached the finals of the J5 Peja and J4 Ioannina.

Stojanova was the U18 Bulgarian National Champion in 2022 and reached the quarterfinals in singles of the 15K Kursumlijska Banja. She has reached numerous semifinals in doubles at 15K tournaments and made the finals of the Bulgarian National Doubles tournament in 2022.

“I chose the University of South Carolina because I felt it was the perfect place where I could truly excel in my tennis and bring it to the next level, pushing myself to new heights athletically while still receiving a quality education that would set me up for success in the future,” said Stojanova.

Stojanova joins Helena Buchwald in the Gamecocks’ 2024-25 signing class.
