COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 17 Ohio State women’s tennis team will begin 2023 competition at the Michigan Invitational this weekend in Ann Arbor, Mich. Ohio State will be joined by host No. 20 Michigan, No. 24 Tennessee and Mississippi.
A live scoreboard and video stream will be available HERE throughout the three days.
There is no team scoring at the event. Each team will play three rounds of doubles and three rounds of singles. There will be up to eight flights in singles and four flights in doubles per round. Each team will play one round of singles and one round of doubles per day. The third set will be played to completion in singles.

- Ohio State was No. 17 in the ITA preseason coaches poll.
- At least eight of the Buckeyes’ nonconference opponents on the schedule this season are in the ITA Top 25 rankings to start the season: No. 3 NC State, No. 4 Oklahoma, No. 5 Texas A&M, No. 8t Georgia, No. 10 Pepperdine, No. 13 Oklahoma State, No. 16 UCLA and No. 19 Arizona State. The Buckeyes could face No. 24 Tennessee or Wake Forest, which is receiving votes, on day two of ITA Kickoff Weekend.
- Three Buckeyes were in the ITA singles rankings at the end of the fall – No. 15 Sydni Ratliff, No. 30 Irina Cantos Siemers and No. 116 Kolie Allen. Cantos and Ratliff are the No. 31-ranked doubles tandem.
- Cantos Siemers earned her undergraduate degree in communication at winter commencement.
- Ratliff led the Buckeyes with 10 singles wins in the fall, followed by Madeline Atway with nine. Atway, Ratliff and Cantos Siemers each notched six doubles victories.

- The Buckeyes will begin dual match play next weekend, as they host No. 4-ranked Oklahoma at 11 a.m. Jan. 22.
- Ohio State will then serve as an ITA Kickoff Weekend site, welcoming Old Dominion, Wake Forest and No. 24 Tennessee Jan. 27-28. Day one features the Buckeyes vs. the Monarchs at 10 a.m., followed by the Demon Deacons vs. the Lady Vols at 1 p.m. Day two, the championship match will be at 4 p.m., followed by the consolation match at 7 p.m. The site winner will advance to the ITA National Team Indoor Championship.
- Admission and parking are free for matches at the Ty Tucker Tennis Center.
