Boilermakers Close Out Regular Season Against Badgers


MADISON, Wis. – Purdue women’s tennis closed out its regular season with a road loss at Wisconsin.

The Boilermakers earned a point from a strong win at No. 4 singles. Freshman Kennedy Gibbs captured her 13th win this spring with her 6-4, 6-4 victory over Wisconsin’s Alina Mukhortova. Gibbs currently leads the team with most singles wins in the spring and she is right behind redshirt senior Liz Norman and sophomore Juana Larranaga with 17 overall singles wins this season.

Senior Csilla Fodor orchestrated a comeback in the No. 2 singles spot. After dropping the first set 6-3, Fodor rocketed back in the lead and took the second 7-5. She was leading No. 75 Maria Sholokhova 3-1 when play was finished.
