WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue women’s tennis will add another tally to the win column after defeating Cincinnati 6-1.
The Boilermakers started doubles with a swift win at No. 3. Sophomore Juana Larranaga and freshman Kennedy Gibbs won their match 6-1. Purdue fought through to earn the doubles point with a win at No. 2 doubles for senior Csilla Fodor and sophomore Carmen Gallardo Guevara.
Singles matches did not come as quickly for Purdue. Sophomore Carmen Gallardo Guevara forced the No. 2 singles match to a super tiebreak after playing a regular tie break for the two previous sets. Milic emerged victorious against the Bearcats with a comeback win in the last set.
Juana Larranaga also sent her match to a super tiebreak. The sophomore led for the entire last set to get her first singles win of the season.
