Bilchev, Lee Receive NCAA Championship Bids – Women's Tennis — Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech’s Kylie Bilchev and Carol Lee will represent women’s tennis at the 2023 NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Championships as the subcommittee announced Tuesday afternoon the 64 singles players and 32 doubles teams selected to compete in individuals. Bilchev and Lee both earned selections into the singles draw.

The singles and doubles competition will take place May 22-27 in Lake Nona, Fla., at the USTA National Campus after the conclusion of the team championship, which runs May 17-20.

Leading Georgia Tech from the top singles position all season, Lee has compiled a 25-10 overall record, including a 16-6 dual mark. She has been ranked in the top 20 all season and broke into the nation’s top 10 in singles in February. The Jacket climbed as high as No. 7 in the ITA singles rankings twice – Feb. 8 and March 21 – and currently sits at No. 15 in the country. This will mark the second appearance in the singles championship as Lee earned her first bid last season, advancing to the second round.

Bilchev will join her teammate in Florida, earning her first bid to the singles championship. The Yellow Jacket has produced an 18-4 dual record at the No. 2 singles position this season and boasts a 25-8 overall mark. Currently ranked No. 27 in the latest ITA rankings, Bilchev has climbed as high as No. 23 earlier this season, marking a career-best for the sophomore.

Georgia Tech will begin the team portion of the NCAA Championship this weekend, May 5-6, traveling to Gainesville, Fla., for the first two rounds. The Yellow Jackets will meet UCF in first round action on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex.
