Big Ten Athlete of the Week – Patrick Maloney guided No. 5 Michigan to a 3-0 week, including a 4-1 win over No. 6 Tennessee and two sweeps over the weekend. Maloney went 3-0 in doubles and 2-0 in singles play. On Thursday (Jan. 19), Maloney topped No. 59 ranked Shunsuke Mitsui (Tennessee) in straight sets 6-4, 6-3. It came after he helped the Wolverines secure the doubles point with a 6-4 win with Ondrej Styler. He won both of his doubles matches on Sunday, winning 6-3 with Styler again versus Brown and then taking down a pair from Cleveland State at No. 1 doubles with Gavin Young. Maloney also won at No. 1 singles, giving up just a single game in a 6-0, 6-1 victory.
