BERKELEY – California women’s tennis head coach Amanda Augustus and associate head coach Zack Warren earned ITA regional honors for the second consecutive season, with Augustus named the ITA Northwest Regional Coach of the Year and Warren dubbed the ITA Northwest Regional Assistant Coach of the Year.

Augustus, who just completed her 15th season as head coach of the Golden Bears, has now captured the regional Wilson ITA Coach of the year award five times, including in 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2021. She was also named the Wilson ITA National Coach of the Year in 2016.

Warren, who finished his eighth season on Cal’s staff in 2021-22, has claimed an ITA coaching honor four times, including in 2013 and 2021. Warren was also named the ITA Mountain Regional Assistant Coach of the Year in 2011 while at BYU.

The coaches led the Bears on a deep run in the NCAA Championship, with Cal winning twice in Berkeley before falling in the round of 16; to the Pac-12 regular-season title; and to an 18-8 record. The Bears finished the season ranked 11th in the final ITA team poll.

Cal junior Haley Giavara picked up the second ITA singles All-America honor of career and was one of six Bears to collect All-Pac-12 status. Giavara and Jessica Alsola – who both competed in the NCAA Singles Championship – were on the All-Pac-12 second team, while Erin Richardson, Julia Rosenqvist, Hannah Viller Moeller and Katja Wiersholm garnered conference honorable mention.

In the last individual ITA polls of the year, Giavara was ranked 36th and Alsola was ranked 70th in singles, while Giavara and Valentina Ivanov were at No. 40 and Alsola and Erin Richardson were 74th in doubles.
