Atkins Tennis Center to Host Neitzel Family Open from July 22-28


URBANA, Ill. – Atkins Tennis Center will play host to the Neitzel Family Open, a 25K men’s tennis tournament on the International Tennis Federation World Tour, from July 22-28.

The tournament, previously called the Fighting Illini Open, will be held in Champaign-Urbana for the fifth time after first being introduced in 2019.

While the draws and full list of participants will be revealed closer to the start of the competition, the field is expected to feature several former and current Illini student-athletes in both singles and doubles play.

July 22 will serve as the opening day of qualifying action, while July 27 and 28 will feature the singles and doubles finals. The field will feature 32 players competing in singles qualifying action, 32 players participating in the singles main draw, and 16 doubles pairs taking part in the doubles main draw.

The tournament is free and open to the public and will be played on the east outdoor courts, barring any inclement weather.
