GREENSBORO, N.C. – Alvaro Saez-Royuela Ariza was named ACC Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.
Ariza defeated VCU’s No. 62 Matisse Bobichon this past Friday, 6-3, 5-7, 1-0(9), to claim the first ranked win of his career. The victory moves his record to 4-1 on the season, matching his win total on Court 2 last year.
The Castellon, Spain native entered the 2023 spring campaign as the No. 121 ranked player in the country after compiling an 11-4 record this fall.
The Hokies are back in action this Friday hosting No. 16 Florida State at 3 PM.
