Antonaki Tabbed First Team Academic All-American

STARKVILLE – Although her tremendous collegiate tennis career may have ended last month, Mississippi State’s Emmanouela Antonaki is not done racking up honors off the court.

The five-time All-SEC honoree added to her lengthy resume by being named First Team College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America on Thursday. Antonaki is the second women’s tennis player in program history to receive the honor, joining Naomi Tran (2012-15) who earned Third Team Academic All-America in 2015.

In the classroom, the 2023 women’s tennis SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year held a sparkling 4.0 cumulative GPA after graduating with her master’s degree in sports administration last month. Antonaki completed her bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2022 with an outstanding 3.87 cumulative GPA.

The Athens, Greece native reached the NCAA Singles Championship this spring for the fourth consecutive year. She is the only women’s tennis player in program history to do so four times. In 2021, she reached the Round of 16 to solidify All-American status.

In Antonaki’s five-year career at State, she amassed a staggering 179 career combined wins which puts her atop the category in the MSU record book. She also collected 98 singles triumphs to put her first in program history for career singles wins. She also ranks third in career doubles wins in the Mississippi State record annals with 81.

For the 2023 season, Antonaki finished with 19 overall victories and 14 dual match wins, five of which were ranked wins. She also finished her tenure ranked No. 47 nationally in singles.
