STARKVILLE – Mississippi State’s Emmanouela Antonaki and Florian Broska will both be representing the Bulldogs at the NCAA Singles Championship this year.
Antonaki and Broska each received at large bids for the event held on the campus of the University of Illinois from May 23-28. It marks Antonaki’s third consecutive year to compete in the NCAA Singles Championship and Broska’s second straight.
Antonaki is just the second player in MSU women’s tennis history to reach the NCAA Singles Championship three times, joining Jasmine Lee (2015-17). Broska is the 18th men’s Bulldog to receive multiple bids and first since Giovanni Oradini in 2019 and 2021.
Antonaki earned All-American status at the NCAA Singles Championship in Orlando, Florida last year by advancing to the Round of 16. She was just the second women’s player in school history to reach the Round of 16 at the event and one of five players to be named an All-American.
This season, the senior from Athens, Greece garnered a second team All-SEC selection after posting a 22-16 singles record, which tied for the team lead in singles victories. Antonaki is currently ranked 64th nationally and has earned seven wins over ranked opponents.
Broska reached the second round of the NCAA Singles Championship last year after defeating Henri Squire of Wake Forest in straight sets in the opening round.
Broska was a first team All-SEC selection and currently ranked a career-best 19th in the country in singles. The graduate from Germany is currently tied for the team lead with 21 wins on the year, 13 of which have come during dual match play. He is also tied for the team lead with seven singles victories against ranked opponents.
Broska’s 97 career singles wins are tied with Matthieu Ballay (1996-99) for the sixth-most in MSU history. His 167 overall victories are tied for the eighth-most in school history with Romain Ambert (2001-04).
