Alabama Women’s Tennis Wraps Up the 2023 Roberta Alison Fall Classic on Saturday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women’s tennis team wrapped up the final day of the 2023 Roberta Alison Fall Classic at the Alabama Tennis Facility.

The Crimson Tide was led by Margaux Maquet who defeated Sofia Markova (ETSU), 6-2, 6-3, to claim the Jenny Mainz singles draw championship.

Hear from Head Coach Jonatan Berhane

“I felt like this tournament went very well. We were all very excited to have 14 teams competing in the 35th Roberta Alison Fall Classic. We had very strong mid-majors and very tough Power 5 competitors. It was good to see the team playing at home since this was our first home tournament, and I’m overall happy with how all the student-athletes competed this weekend. [Margaux Maquet] showed a lot of resiliency throughout the tournament with battling obstacles like illness, but competed very well as she won the top bracket.”
