TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men’s tennis program (8-2) rolled past ETSU (0-8), 6-1, inside the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility Friday night. The win secured the Crimson Tide its eighth victory of the season.
Match vs. ETSU
- Joao Ferreira and Yair Sarouk recorded the first win of the day, defeating ETSU’s Francisco Lamas and Juan Lombisano on court three, 6-2
- The Buccaneers captured a win on court one to force the decision for the doubles point to be decided on court two
- With a 5-4 advantage and the game tied at 40-40, Roan Jones hit a ball down the line that was unable to be returned to give UA the doubles point
- Matias Ponce De Leon secured the Tide its first singles victory of the match, winning 6-2, 6-2 on court four
- Alabama’s Enzo Aguiard and Roan Jones would each secure 6-4, 6-1 wins on courts one and three, respectively, to give Alabama a 4-0 lead
- On court five, Yair Sarouk outlasted ETSU’s Lucas Britez 4-6, 6-0, 6-1 for the Crimson Tide’s fourth singles victory of the night
- Ferreira secured Alabama its sixth, and final, point of the match after winning a three-set battle on court six: 6-4, 6-7 (5), 10-6
- Thiago Pernas’ victory on court two gave ETSU its lone point of the match, winning 7-5, 6-4
