Alabama Falls to San Diego State


SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Alabama women’s tennis program (2-1) fell to San Diego State (1-1) at the Aztec Tennis Center Friday evening.

The Crimson Tide claimed the doubles point after the UA pair of Anne Marie Hiser and Klara Milicevic (7-6, 7-2) won the second, and deciding, match before heading into singles play. Hiser and Milicevic would also win their respective singles matches.

The Match

  • Alabama’s Ola Pitak and Loudmilla Bencheikh won the first doubles match (6-4) on court two before the Crimson Tide pair of Anne Marie Hiser and Klara Milicevic claimed the deciding doubles-point victory on court three
  • Hiser moved Alabama to a 2-2 score, defeating Rania Azziz, 6-2, 7-5, on court six
  • Klara Milicevic’s win (6-3, 5-7, 6-3) on court five would become the final point scored by the Crimson Tide
  • The Aztecs would win the four remaining courts to come out on top, 4-3
