SAN DIEGO, Calif. –– Members of the Alabama men’s tennis team concluded day one of the ITA National Fall Championships on Wednesday as Enzo Aguiard fell in the singles draw and Filip Planinsek and Andrii Zimnokh lost a three-set doubles match.
Planinsek and Zimnokh won their opening set 6-1 against JJ Bianchi and Jake Vassel. However, the Boston College duo captured two tightly contested rounds at 7-6 (6), 12-10 to secure the win.
In singles play, Aguiard faced the No. 10-ranked singles player in the country, Alexander Bernard from Ohio State. The two battled in both sets, but would Aguiard fall 6-4, 6-4 in the match.
