Alabama Adds Andrii Zimnokh to Men’s Tennis Team


TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –– Alabama head coach George Husack announced the addition of Andrii Zimnokh to the men’s tennis team on Thursday.

Zimnokh is set to join the Crimson Tide this fall from Kharkiv, Ukraine. While in Ukraine, he worked his way to the top of every age group in addition to breaking into the top 100 in the ITF rankings. He has experience on the national stage competing in several elite competitions, including the 2023 Australian Junior Open.

“Andrii is a strong and experienced addition to our roster. He has trained with some of the best players and coaches in the world as well as competed at a high level for the past several years. He’s made significant gains during this time and will make an immediate impact to our program.”

Andrii Zimnokh Bio

  • Captured a career-high ITF ranking of No. 97 earlier this year
  • Has held the top ranking in each age group (U12, U14, U16, U18) in Ukraine
  • Advanced to the junior Round of 32 in singles at the 2023 Australian Open
  • Reached the quarterfinals in singles at the 2023 European Championships in Klosters, Switzerland 
  • Invited to the 2023 European Summer Cup Tournament as part of the Ukrainian National Team
  • Trained at Piatti Tennis Center in Northern Italy for the past year and a half
