What we know: Andy Murray had surgery on a spinal cyst on Saturday.

What we don’t know: whether or not the two-time Wimbledon champion will turn up to play Wimbledon.

A tweet by the ATP saying that Murray would miss Wimbledon has been deleted, and Murray is currently holding onto hope, with just a smidge over a week left until main draw play begins at Wimbledon.

“He obviously went through a procedure yesterday, and you have to wait and see now,” British Davis Cup Captain Leon Smith told the BBC on Sunday, per Reuters. “My understanding is no decision has been made and let’s hope for the best for Andy.”

According to Stuart Fraser of the London Times: “Murray has not withdrawn from Wimbledon as it stands. He underwent minor surgery on his back on Saturday and is now weighing up his recovery. The All England Club has left open a doubles wild card for Andy and his brother Jamie in the meantime.”
