Stanford had to come back to secure the doubles point with tiebreaks on Courts 1 and 3. Katherine Hui and Valencia Xu beat Hannia Abouelsaad and Martina Markov at No. 3, 7-6 (3), and Connie Ma and Alexandra Yepifanova beat Eva Alvarez Sande and Elyse Tse at No. 1, 7-6 (5).
Singles weren’t nearly as close, with the Cardinal cruising to straight-set wins on Courts 2-6. India Houghton secured the clincher, her team-leading sixth of the season, with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Martina Makov at No. 6. Playing at No. 1, Connie Ma split the first two sets with Eva Alvarez Sande before winning the 10-point tiebreak, 10-4.
Stanford will be at No. 26 Washington on Sunday at noon.
