EVANSTON, Ill. –– The No. 21 Alabama men’s tennis team (6-2) recorded its sixth consecutive victory on Friday, defeating Northwestern (3-6) with a 4-3 decision on the road.
The Crimson Tide recorded doubles victories from Matic Dimic and Roan Jones on court three and Enzo Aguiard and Zach Foster on court one to open the day. Alabama followed with three straight singles wins from Jones on court five, Andrii Zimnokh on court four and Filip Planinsek, ranked 53rd nationally, on court one to clinch the match.
The Tide’s remaining three matches went into a third set, but would fall to the Wildcats.

- Matic Dimic and Roan Jones opened the day with a strong performance at No. 3 doubles, downing Chad Miller and Saiprakash Goli, 6-1
- Northwestern captured a doubles victory on court two, but a 6-2 victory against Enzo Aguiard and Zach Foster over Felix Nordby and Gleb Blekher on court 1 gave UA the opening point
- The first singles victory of the day went to Jones as he posted a 6-4, 6-1 win over Miller on court five
