COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri’s women’s tennis team travels to Lawrence, Kan. for the ITA Central Regional Championships hosted by Kansas, beginning competition on Thursday, Oct. 12 and closing on Monday, Oct. 16.
The Tigers attend the Central Region of the ITA Division I Regional Championships at the Jayhawk Tennis Center, one of 85 nationwide ITA Regional Championships. Over 8,000 student-athletes – spanning NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and Junior and Community Colleges – are contending in the ITA Regional Championships nationwide this year.
Kicking off tournament play, junior Sophia McLellan will face off in a qualifying singles match against Southern Illinois University at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 12. Senior Romary Cardenas Rifka will follow at 10:20 a.m. with another qualifying singles match against Saint Louis University.
The remaining Tigers will begin singles play on Friday, Oct. 13, along with all Mizzou doubles duos opening competition in the main draw rounds.
Last season, Mizzou appeared at the ITA Central Regional Championships in Stillwater, Okla., where Mae Canete qualified for the quarterfinals with her singles win against Oklahoma.

- Two rounds of doubles – Quarterfinals and Semifinals
- One round of singles – Quarterfinals
Monday:
- One round of doubles – Finals
- Two rounds of singles – Semifinals and Finals

The Tigers will hit the road to attend the UCA Invitational hosted by Central Arkansas in Conway, Ark., from Friday, Oct. 27 – Saturday, Oct. 28.
