ORLANDO, Fla. – Virginia Tech’s 24th-ranked duo of Jordan Chrysostom and Ryan Fishback fell to No. 3 Cleeve Harper and Eliot Spizzirri (Texas), 6-3, 7-6(3), on Wednesday in the Round of 32.
Originally set to be played on Tuesday, weather pushed the duo’s match back to Wednesday evening. After dropping the first set, Fishback and Chrysostom set the pace against the nation’s third-ranked pair for most of the second set. In the tiebreak, an early break by the Longhorns was the inch that they needed to get comfortable and secure the win.
This concludes the Hokies 2022-23 campaign.
