IN THE RANKS
Head Coach Roeland Brateanu will close out another successful season, finishing as the No. 19 team in the nation per most recent ITA rankings. Geronimo Espin Busleiman and Francisco Bastias hold the No. 52 and No. 97 singles rankings, respectively. Patrik Trhac and Berk Bugarikj continue in the top-50 doubles teams, currently sitting at the No. 41 spot.
SCOUTING THE BRUINS
The UCLA Bruins currently hold a 12-8 overall record, and a 3-4 record for conference play. The team recently took a 4-0 win against UC San Diego and consequently a 0-4 loss against USC. The last time the Utes faced the Bruins was during the Pac-12 Championships in 2022, where UCLA took a 4-2 win. The Utes have faced the Bruins 12 times and have had one victory, also during the 2022 season.
SCOUTING THE TROJANS
The Trojans hold a 15-7 overall record and a 5-2 conference record for the 2023 season. Their most current matches resulted in victories, including a 4-1 win over Washington and a 4-0 sweep against UCLA. The Utes faced the Trojans during the 2022 season resulting in a 4-1 loss for Utah. A victory for Utah this weekend would be the first in program history against USC.
