PULLMAN, Wash. (Sept. 16, 2022) – Washington State University inducted eight individuals and one team into its Athletic Hall of Fame Friday evening, concluding the Cougars’ year-long Power of IX campaign celebrating the 50th anniversary of Title IX, the 2022 class is an all-female class.
Below is the announcement from June of 2022 announcing the class.
“The 2022 WSU Athletic Hall of Fame class highlights exceptional contributors to the great history of Cougar Athletics, and this year, in honor of our proud history with Title IX, we welcome some of the greatest women in WSU history as we induct an all-female class,” said Chun. “Their accomplishments will be celebrated this fall and we look forward to welcoming them back to campus.”
The honorees will join the current 221 individuals and teams in the WSU Athletic Hall of Fame. The induction dinner will be held Sept. 16 at Beasley Coliseum with the 2022 class also being recognized at the Washington State-Colorado State football game at Gesa Field the following day. The list of eight inductees and one team comprising the 2022 class includes:
Eka Burduli (tennis, 2005-08): Ended her WSU career with a school-record 91 career singles victories…three-time All-Pac-10 selection…finished senior season with 28 victories, the first player in WSU history to register three-straight 20-win seasons…led WSU to the NCAA Championships in 2008, while making her second appearance at the NCAA Singles Championships…WSU’s 2008 Pac-10 Medal winner.
Tammy Crawford (rowing, 1990-2002): Was WSU’s first coach in the newly established varsity rowing program in 1990…under her guidance, WSU’s varsity and novice level boats claimed a total of two National Championships and five Pac-10 Championships…2001 and 2002 Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association West Region Coach of the Year.
LaToya Harris (volleyball, 1999-2002): A four-year letterwinner at WSU…three-time All-Pac-10 First-Team selection…finished career with school records for aces (143)…two-time Pac-10 Player of the Week…member of three NCAA Championship tournament teams,…
