MALIBU, Calif. – Husky sophomore Soham Purohit dropped a three-setter against a ranked UCLA opponent today at ITA Sectionals hosted by Pepperdine.
Purohit was looking to further his quest to earn an NCAA Singles bid at Sectionals, and it couldn’t have started much better against 104th-ranked Aadarsh Tripathi, as Purohit won the first set without dropping a game. But Tripathi turned the tables after that and won sets two and three for a 0-6, 6-3, 6-2 final score.
Washington will be repped at NCAAs by Cesar Bouchelaghem in singles starting on Nov. 19.
