Tennis Earns ITA All-Academic Team Honor With Six Named Scholar-Athletes


COLUMBIA, Mo. –  University of Missouri tennis earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team honor with six Tigers claiming the Scholar-Athlete individual accolade, the association announced Monday, July 22.

To qualify for the team designation, the squad must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above. The 2023-24 team closed out the spring with a program high 3.86 gpa, leading the department.

Andrea Artimedi, Emelie Schwarte, Gabriela Martinez, Laura Masic, Mae Canete, Romary Cardenas Rifka and Sophia McLellan all earned ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition, which is given to student-athletes with a 3.5 gpa or higher for the current academic year.

The 2023-24 season marks the ninth consecutive year Mizzou earned the All-Academic Team honor.
