Five Blue Devils Receive All-ACC Academic Team Honors

DURHAM – Five members of the Duke women’s tennis team – Iuliia Bryzgalova, Brianna Shvets, Emma Jackson, Katie Codd and Shavit Kimchi – earned All-ACC Academic Team accolades on Tuesday as announced by the league office.

Jackson received honors for the third straight year, while Bryzgalova and Shvets were named for the second year in a row.  Both Codd and Kimchi were tabbed for the first time in their respective careers.

The ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year award was established in September 2007 to be awarded annually to the top junior or senior student-athlete in their respective sports. Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0-grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. In addition, student-athletes must compete in at least 50 percent of their team’s contests.

Miami’s Alexa Noel was honored with ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
