Nine Blue Devils Selected to All-ACC Academic Team


DURHAM – Duke landed nine selections on the 79-member 2024 All-ACC Academic Men’s Tennis team as announced by the ACC on Tuesday.
 
Graduate student Andrew Zhang received the honor for the fourth consecutive season, while Faris Khan and Connor Krug each earned acknowledgment for the third time in their careers. The Blue Devils also had five student-athletes receive recognition for the second time with Michael HellerGarrett JohnsJake KrugPedro Rodenas, and Teddy Truwit all being named. Additionally, rookie Alexander Visser received Academic All-ACC praise for the first time.
 
Duke’s nine honorees were the most in the league and marked the third consecutive season in which the Blue Devils had six-plus student-athletes named to the team.

Boston College and Virginia trailed Duke with eight selections, followed by Clemson (7), Notre Dame (7), Virginia Tech (7), Georgia Tech (6), Louisville (5), North Carolina (5), NC State (5), Wake Forest (5), Miami (4) and Florida State (3).

 

To be eligible for consideration, student-athletes must have a 3.0-grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. In addition, student-athletes must compete in at least 50 percent of their team’s contests.
