18th-Ranked Men’s Tennis Completes Successful B1G Road Weekend with Win over No. 60 Northwestern

EVANSTON, Ill. – No. 18 Spartans Men’s Tennis perfected it’s first Big Ten road weekend, collecting a ranked win in as many days with a 5-2 win over No. 60 Northwestern on Sunday afternoon.
MSU improves to 18-3 on the season, marking the first 18-win season for the program in six years with six-plus matches remaining on the schedule. The Spartans are now 4-0 on the season in B1G play, one of three teams sitting atop the conference with perfect records.
On Saturday, to the south in Urbana-Champaign, Ill., the squad grabbed a historic 4-3 win over No. 19 Illinois, overcoming an 0-3 deficit. The pair of road victories moves MSU closer to not only its second NCAA Tournament team appearance in program history and first since 2013, but also a potential first ever first round regional in East Lansing in May.

In his second year at the helm, Jadun has already collected more Big Ten wins than he did in his first season as head coach (3) and the second most for the program since he was a junior student-athlete on the team in 2014 (5).
Match Recap
For the second day in a row the Spartans found themselves down early, having been swept for the doubles point. Contrary to Saturday, however, MSU didn’t let the situation worsen,…
